July 29 TURBT
June 10 Cystoscope and biopsy revealed a small cancerous spot with no tumor. My Uro wants to get it before a tumor grows and since he is quite busy this is the earliest date he has.
I had a double inguinal hernia operation on June 17 as an outpatient, so I really don’t mind the wait, it will give me time to get past that.Dunin2ParticipantI just got back from the hospital after my cystoscope no new tumors! That is two in a row. The Doctor said there is one small spot that may be precancerous or the remains of my once badly inflamed bladder, tests are being done and I will find out in two weeks. Nothing scheduled for three months regardless of the results.
I wish I could say I have three months off but next Tuesday I am have a bilateral inguinal hernia operation. These both occured at the same time due to severe bladder spasms that turned into full abdominal contractions. I have had this nightmare since December and I am actually looking forward to getting rid of them. They have both been pushing on my bladder as if it is caught in a vice. Getting rid of them will be a great step in stopping the constant discomfort that I have been going through daily.

Dunin2ParticipantHi shelties
Welcome to BCC. Nice to hear your lung and colon cancer is in remission. I can’t imagine the stress you have been through and now to have BC on top of all that must seem like your guardian angel is on extended vacation.
I was diagnosed with BC last June or July and have found this site to be a real help both in finding answers and relieving the stress with all the uncertainties involved with BC.
There doesn’t seem to be a question or concern that can’t be answered or addressed on this site.
Please keep us up to date on your progress and stay positive.Mike
Dunin2ParticipantThis is great news and is perhaps a first step in finding a univesral treatment for all cancers.
The question I have is, if this works on advanced cancer wouldn’t it work just as well or better on newly diagnosed low level cancer?Mike
Dunin2ParticipantHi Val
I know that the bleeding and blood clots can be quite disturbing but it is normal when you have a tumor.
I had bleeding and blood clots about a week ago and am now worried that I have another tumor. I have a cystoscopy on the 10th and will find out then.
I think you should call the lady you know who has been through all of this for a little reassurance. I am sure she will be happy to help.
Stay positive.Mike
Dunin2Participant3 month Cystoscope on June 10 the last one was all clear but I had a lot of bright red blood and huge clots Saturday and Sunday and am quite concerned that there is another tumor.
Dunin2ParticipantHi vals
Wow! You are obviously braver than I am I would be trying everything possible before a bladder removal. I wish I could give you the advise you are looking for but I have not been on this journey long enough to know.
There are others on this site who have had bladder removal surgery and I am sure there thoughts and advise will be much more informed than mine.
I hope the final decision you make is the right one for you.Mike
Dunin2ParticipantHi Vals
Is the Doctor recommending bladder removal?Mike
Dunin2ParticipantHi Jtarnow
I am just finishing up my second round of BCG treatment and even at quarter strength my reaction to it is violent to say the least. No sleep at all for the first 24 hours after treatment and the burning is non stop. It takes me about ten days to get over one treatment and they are once a week so they really take a toll. The Dr. postponed the 3rd treatment to give me a chance to recuperate from the first two. My concentration and thinking ability was shot and even going on line to pay bills was a struggle but I’m feeling better now and am catching up on everything.
To answer your question regarding two surgeries close together I had two surgeries about 5 weeks apart to remove one tumor each time. Since then I have had one cystoscope showing no new tumors and am hoping the next one is also all clear.
Believe me I know what that scared feeling is like when the Dr. said I needed a second operation I thought that life as I know it was gone forever. But I’m still optimistic and believe I will have a more normal life in the not to distant future.
I hope everything works out well for you.Mike
Dunin2ParticipantHI Farm-boy
It is always great to read a post like yours.
I was diagnosed with BC around the same time as you and will be starting my second round of BCG next week.
I doubt that I will ever be in a dancing mood after a cysto but I know what you mean, when the doctor says all clear it is a great relief.
I filled out the survey last week I’m sure the others will as well.
The members on this site all seem to have a positive never give up attitude that is an inspiration for everyone.
I hope the rest of your life is just cystos and you can dance till the cows come home.Mike
April 7, 2014 at 8:24 pm in reply to: Slow to introduce myself, Been checking out this site for over 1 year: I’d better say Hi All "HI" #17292Dunin2ParticipantHi Greg50
Welcome to BCC
Sorry to hear you have the big C. That is what draws everyone to this site. Like you I was reluctant to sign up and become a member of this new and extended family because it confirms that my life will forever revolve around cancer treatment and cancer watch. Cystos are not a fun thing but everyone here has them on a regular basis.
Your news is the best we can hope for and it is great to hear a success story.
Please keep us up to date on your progress.Mike

Mike
Dunin2ParticipantI got the names mixed up sorry about that
Congratulations Jeanne
I hope I didn’t scare you leva.I guess I’ll have to start previewing my posts
Mike
Dunin2ParticipantCongratulations leva
Isn’t it wonderful to become great and twins at that.
My great nieces are young adults now so it probably won’t be long before I’m twice as great as I am now.Dunin2ParticipantThese two sites should be very helpful. Trying to find any solid info is difficult since so many sites seem to contradict each other.
Trying to come up with a diet that is easy on the bladder and doesn’t cause constipation is a challenge I am just now beginning to win. I am losing weight because I stopped eating and drinking the foods that irritate my bladder (coolers, juices, soft drinks, chocolate bars etc.) so I’ll need to make sure my diet is also high calorie at least for a while.
My bladder has been fairly calm for the last few days with only slight discomfort. I’m hoping it will keep on improving.
Thanks for your help
