May 17, 2023 at 3:01 pm in reply to: Calendar for June 2023 – Who is up for Surgeries, Treatments and Tests? #44470AndreaGParticipant
I’m Andrea, 44 from SW Ontario (diagnosed with non-muscle invasive BC in 2018 at 39 years old). I’ve recently had my 4th TURBT since 2018, for non-invasive BC. This was my longest stretch of 2.5 years between surgeries.
I will be starting 6 weeks of BCG June 7th. Silver linings? I know what to expect, I hope I get the nurse I LOVE in the cancer center, and my work has been extremely supportive of my decision to take a LOA during my treatment period to focus on my health – both physical and mental.
Onward!
AndreaGParticipantThanks all! To follow-up , I spoke to my urologist and there was no UTI he figures the irritation from the 3rd TURBT and the size of the catheter tube used post-op caused some function issues through my first week at home. It has been 4 days since it was inserted, I am getting it removed tomorrow. I drank LOTS of water and sat on a heating pad for relief. Cannot wait to get this out.
Good news, my tumors stayed low grade etc, so BCG next up. Thanks again everyone, so nice to be able to come here for support 🙂

AndreaGParticipantFirst time poster here! I started my first BCG treatment 3 weeks ago for low grade non invasive papillary carcinoma, after two TURBTs and one recurrence. My third treatment is tomorrow and my urologist just advised me of the shortage. Hoping that 3 out of 6 is better than nothing??
