Background — 65 year old woman diagnosed September 2024 with HG Ta Utuc in kidney. Treated with Nephroureterectomy in October 2024.

    Update —
Funny how we rationalize things! Good news — my recent ct scan and chest X-ray are clear. Not so great news — cystoscopy showed a lesion that is highly suspicious of a hg grade tumour. The risk of Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma reoccurring in the bladder is pretty high so I’m truly not surprised. Note: my bladder has felt very irritated and achey after I urinate at night. Dr. said HG can be highly irritating. Cytology results expected in a week but TURBT will be scheduled within the month. Probably BCG and hoping for TaT1 stage. Anyway, forward march!

    Hi Lisautuc,

Welcome and thank you for posting your situation in the forum.  We hope that your results will show a T1 or less and that BCG can address it.  I wanted to let you know in this reply that there are other forms of support offered by Bladder Cancer Canada.  In addition to posting here in the Forum and having people chime in and share their experiences, we also offer Support Groups and 1:1 Peer Support Volunteers.  These sessions are ‘live’ via virtual technology or in some cases a hybrid (in-person and virtual), where you can interact in real-time with people.   Here is the link showing all the Support Group, and yes, there is one in the Maritimes.  I facilitate the Ontario Support Group.
