After 6 BCG treatments the following Cytology report showed up in “MyChart”. I had a follow up biopsy last Tuesday 11/28 and see my doctor today 12/5 for results. I am curious what the following means “Dysplasia”? Anyone know? I guess I’ll find out later on today. Any follow up would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Final Diagnosis Final
    “Urine, clean void (midstream)”
    Atypical Urothelial Cells (AUC).
Rare atypical and reactive urothelial cells, neutrophils, crystals, and few red blood cells are present.

Dysplasia can mean the presence of cells of an abnormal type within a tissue, which may signify a stage preceding the development of cancer. The problem with most cytology results many are false positive, which is why biopsies are used which are far more accurate.
    Good luck today.

Thanks, I had 6 biopsies from the bladder done last week. All were negative and free of cancer. Now on to the maintenance………..
