I am hoping travel after my surgery, which was over 1 week ago.

I am not having any symptoms and surgery was successful . I was wondering if anyone has been in this situation and what their decision was to travel

    thank you.

    Hi Rosebud,

I ‘sort of’ travelled a couple of days after my Turbt.  I had a couple of presentations to give in Mississauga while I lived south of Hamilton.  It took me over an hour to commute, and then I was on my feet presenting my information.  What I experienced was some slight bleeding when I urinated.  Also, I had a stent in me at the time, which I removed after 10 days.  Once I sat down to rest and on my drive home, I had no issues.

All this being said, everyone is different so please be mindful of that.  I for one heal pretty quickly.  BTW, I was 54 years of age at that time.  I am 68 now and a 15 year survivor.

    I hope this helps,

    My Best,

    Hi Rosebud:

I agree with Nightingale.  See how you feel after surgery.  Don’t push it too hard.  Ask your doctor about what is right for you.

I was the opposite of Nightingale.  I’ve had 3 TURBTs – 2008, 2010 and 2022.  Even though the first two surgeries went well with no complications I did feel like I’d been beaten up pretty good.  There was no way I would have travelled.  All I did was sleep, eat, drink and pee a lot and also went for short walks as able. After my third TURBT in 2022, I experienced complications and was in hospital for 2 days and 2 nights  and came home with a catheter and an undiagnosed UTI versus just overnight the first 2 times so again travel for me was a no go.

Take care and best of luck.  (((HUGS)))
