What a tumultuous year it has been with the pandemic upending our lives in some many ways. All that being said the majority of people have proven to be quite resilient and creative in finding work-arounds with the restrictions.
That being said, it is a year ago today that a monster of a hailstorm hit Calgary causing over 1 billion in damages. Yes that it right folks – 1 billion. And many folks are still waiting to get their homes repaired. Not long ago, hubby and I went into the NE quadrant of the city which was the area hardest hit by the storm. We decided to take a look at our old house. It did suffer some minor damage but not as much as many others. Like many the holes in the siding are taped over and the house is still waiting to be repaired. It is the 4th costliest disaster in Canadian history. This was a bit much to take on top of the pandemic and an already depressed economy. Just a little while earlier we had learned that our beloved Calgary Stampede was cancelled for the first time since the first world war.
All this being said, we have survived and proven that we can overcome. For myself personally, I’m extremely grateful that all our kids are healthy and employed after being laid off last year. Hubby and I have enough and we too, are healthy.
I hope that the majority of folks here are okay too. ((((HUGS))))
