    Hi,

I’m looking to connect with anyone who was diagnosed with T2HG MIBC & carcinoma in situ (Cis) that may have opted to go the bladder preservation route.

I’ve heard from at least one doctor who has essentially treated a patient as if they had a high grade disease that hadn’t gone into the muscle and that the patient is still doing fine 7 years later. However, I suspect there will be others who may not have had similar success.

It would be appreciated if anyone with a similar diagnosis that decided to try the bladder preservation route would share their experiences with me.

    Much appreciated.

    Hi Scott,

I do not have the experience myself.  But I read somewhere that one male patient on the east coast had successful TMT and I know someone who had chosen TMT but unfortunately the bladder cancer metastasized.     In the US, Massachusetts General Hospital has been a proponent for TMT and seemed to have treated several patients.  In Canada, Prince Margarett Cancer Centre/the University of Toronto seems to have treated patients by TMT for some time.  They seem to have established a multi-discipline process consult with a patient.  You may want to contact Print Margarett Cancer Centre in Toronto to find out if you are a good candidate for TMT.   Below is the presentation by Prof. Girish Kulkarni of the University of Toronto to compare RC and TMT.   Though the presentation is aimed at urologists, I find it very useful to understand the pros and cons of TMT and RC.

It is noted that Urologist and Prof. Girish Kulkarni of the University of Toronto mentions the key to the successful TMT is the selection of a good candiate for TMT.
