Hello All, I must say I haven’t been on here for awhile but have remained active as a BC volunteer.

It has been 4 years this October being diagnosed with muscle invasive Bladder Cancer, Don’t know the type, grade, didn’t want to know,
I just followed the Doctor’s recommendation and had my bladder spared with Chemo and Radiation,

It certainly hasn’t been easy having biopsies on my bladder (all clear) and a lung biopsy (all clear)
In fact yesterday was my 6 month cysto check-up and I was going to ask if I could break free and have my cysto once a year since it is almost 4 years.

It was then they seen a red spot on my bladder and said Lets do a biopsy and I said
No the last one was such horrible pain that I would prefer a general local.
The docs agreed and said if we thought it was really serious we would put you out now. However we will check the urine and if we feel it necessary we will have you in a few days for a biopsy..

I am on pins and needles right now. This blasted Cancer.. Will we ever be really free???

Hi Mary, so sorry to hear you have another concern about your bladder. Hopefully, it isn’t a return of the cancer. I can relate to your anxiety about this as I too, have had more than a few of these situations, not only with my bladder cancer, but also with my lung cancer too. This is one terrible disease that haunts us day and night. It seems like we worry when its’ there and we worry when it isn’t there, because we wonder if/when it will return. I know there isn’t any point in telling you to put it out of your mind until you hear from the doctor because I know from experience, that doesn’t work. The only thing I can suggest is that you try and pre-occupy yourself with something pleasant that you enjoy doing to help get you through this period of waiting.

Let us know when you hear something. Take care. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

    Hi Anne Marie
Red spot on the bladder wall as you know can be anything. I had several red spots between 2006 and 2010. All were benign but my Uro always took a biopsy to be sure and a urine test. He wanted to do the biopsy to be 100% sure as I had a few recurrences in 2006 and 2007. Of course we all worry when waiting for test results especially red spots as CIS has that characteristic of being red. I pray your spot is just a benign red spot.
Please update us all when you get the urine test result.
    Hugs,
    Jack
PS: Thanks for being a devoted volunteer for BCC!

    Thanks so much Jack,
I was so excited has things have been going really well, I was hoping that TGH doctors, Dr. Jewett etc. were going to allow me to come in once per year as it has been 4 years.
Feeling very giddy like perhaps I can say have a great summer & Merry Christmas to the staff. WOW Was I let down when they found the red spot and of course feeling very sorry for myself.
And when they said we may have to call you in for another biopsy and if not (after checking my urine) we will see you in September. However my husband always reminds me that we have the best health care in the world.
He also said if they looked deeper into everyone’s bodies who knows what they will find. He really knows how to pick me up.

Thanks Jack I am still concerned but I know I am in the best of hands.

    Hugs to you as well

    Thanks for the prayers.

Well with Chemo and radiation the finding of red spot on the bladder could certainly be irritations form all that however most definitely fclose follow up is important. Let’s pray it is just irritation and not cancer. My best wishes and my prayers are with you.
