Well, I’ve had the Turbt 5 days ago and had the catheter removed this morning. Catheter was a bugger. Don’t know what size of hose they normally use but I had a 22. The 3 home care people I had post surgery interactions all had similar comments, a 22, that’s BIG! Most uncomfortable 5 days I’ve ever experienced and I’ve had a prostate removed and received a new hip. I’ve been drinking water all day and I’m almost completely incontinent, just drip , drip, drip. Just returned from Shoppers with a large package of Depends. When I pee its like a loose hose, water squirting out in every direction. It doesn’t matter where I’m aiming, the stream has a mind of its own. I have to pee into a milk carton or the bathroom walls are the recipient!

So my question is, am I undergoing a normal experience with post catheter experience?

    Hello Floger,

I had a Stent in my Urethra that I kept in for a week.  It was uncomfortable, but not painful and it did not cause the flood gates to open so to speak as you are experiencing.  After a week, I stood under a hot shower and pulled it out in one fluid motion.  I was able to pee normally.  You might want to contact your Specialist/Doctor and let him/her know of your situation.

Here is the image of the Stent similar to the one I had inserted in me.  Click on the Image of Stent.

    My Best,
