    Hi

We are trying to find pros and cons of the artificial sphincter after neobladder surgery. My husband had his surgery 3 years ago and only has incontinence at night. The surgeon is an excellent surgeon but hasn’t really been able to explain why this is the best option. Any experience or ideas  – positive and negative -would be much appreciated. We are not really feeling the love of heading into hospital at the moment if we don’t have to.

I have watched a video of  artificial sphincter explained by a urologist of University of British Columbia explaining to her fellow urologists.  It looked complicated and invasive.

I know a few fellows who had neobladder urinary diversion and chose a condom catheter so they could sleep through the night even if they can have  continence if they try to.   best
