Today is the day that we start slowly eliminating the penny from our Canadian currency system. The big think tanks in Ottawa say that it costs 1.6 cents to produce the 1 cent coin. (Go figure) They can supposedly save I think it was 11 million a year by not producing the penny.Personally I wonder if this is a trend to slowly eliminate change from our currency. Prices are in the process of being rounded up or down to the nearest 5 cent mark.If we eliminate the penny do we now have to give a nickel for someon’e thoughts? Any word on whether this will happen in the good ol’ US of A?

that idea has been tossed around in the U.S. for a few years. So maybe we should not pay for anyone’s thoughts. Then there will be fewer thoughts. Or tell our “leaders” that we’ll donate nothing since there is no valid reason to contribute to stupidity. Or perhaps a penny for their their next raise.
