    Hi All,

I haven’t checked in in a while. My husband, Wyatt, has his RC surgery on Nov. 18th. He had a prolonged stay in hospital due to a bit of a leak in the neobladder, but that was a blessing. He received top-notch care and got well along the road to recovery. Here on the island (Vancouver Island) he is lacking the incredible nursing care he had at Van Gen. As part of his recovery he is supposed to be self-catheterizing every other day AND he is supposed to use a “penile vacuum pump”. Now, has ANYONE had experience with these? There is one brand that dominates the market, but it is costly (from our local pharmacy they range from $400-$550.) Our basic BC insurance won’t cover it. I know there are alternatives out there, but often they don’t ship to Canada. Just wondering if anyone has advice on brands/types, what to avoid, problems and pitfalls, how much of a learning curve we’re looking at, etc. THANKS!! And if you know of a better discussion forum for this topic, please let me know.
