It was one year ago today, that I “saw red and saw my doctor”. After chemo, surgery and receiving my neobladder, I am grateful to God that I am 3 months cancer free, and returning to ‘normal’ life, though I am forever changed.

Thanks to Bladder Cancer Canada for all their help and support – it was great to have both an online, and hands on resource as I navigated my way through a difficult year. Thanks to Dr Shayegan, the terrific staff on the 7th floor of St Joe’s Hospital in Hamilton, and the team at the Juravinski Cancer Centre for the great care I received.

Looking forward to the KW/Cambridge BC Awareness Walk in two weeks time. Excited that my team – “Gordo’s GrouPees” have raised almost $3500 so far! Woohoo!

Gord’s GrouPees…that is just a stellar name. Way to go. We’ll be wishing everyone at the walk a successful day. Maybe you will hear us cheering you on from the 7th floor at St. Joe’s! A great day for you to celebrate.
