It was in 2023. My only symptom was visible debris in urine. No blood, no infection, no pain, no urgency etc. Not smoker. Urologist told me not to worry, debris was normal. Family doctor sent me for ultrasound, mass was found in the bladder. Then cystoscopy, TURB, TA high grade.

I think it can be beneficial to do abdominal ultrasound ones a year. Can help, not with bladder only.

    Hi vladmtf:

My suggestion to all is if you see anything unusal in your urine no matter what it is, get it checked out.  Good for you for advocating for yourself and kudos for your family doctor doing the imaging.  In addtion to your astuteness, your doctor probably helped save your life.  I’m not a doctor so I can’t advise per se but I will comment that I don’t think visible debris in the urine is normal.   Good luck going forward.  (((HUGS))))

    Thank you, Marysue,

Yes, I agree, my family doctor saved my life, I thanked her for this. Actually, she sent me for ultrasound twice, first one didn’t find anything. so she sent me for second time. And I was very lucky to have good ultrasound technician. I didn’t ask, but guess she was a doctor back home (she is an immigrant). She asked me about symptoms and started looking, no luck, she wanted me to have bladder half empty, sent me to washroom, voided too much, so she brought me a bottle of water, I was drinking on the table. Finally she saw the mass. So, I consider this as  saving my life too. Could be different outcome.

All the best to you too.

    hi Vladmtf-

kudos for your family doctor and the technician for pursuing to help you.

interesting as my family doctor sent me for an ultrasound right away for   symptoms of faint brown urine that I had only two days showing . Ultrasound shows Nothing – all clear it showed.

however; my doctor decided to send me to a urologist right away anyway-good thing!

Got cysto and it showed a big open tumour ( looks like coral with fingers) and 2-3 other tumours. After Turbt: diagnosed:

    ta hi grade NMIBC.

My family doctor saved my life as well. I had brown urine, family doctor referred me to urologist and ultrasound. Urologist office called me two days later for a cystoscopy. Saw two very small tumours less than 3 cm. After TURBT 3 weeks later diagnosed as Ta high grade. I’m glad my family doctor and urologist office moved fast!
