I contacted Merck Canada in Quebec on Feb 7, 2023 to see if I could find out  the information of the  current demand and supply status of Onco-Tice BCG.   I thought I would be gently refused but I was surprised that they shared the following information.

The demand for Onc0-Tice BCG has been constant and the demand is about the same as the same time last year.   Merck Canada uses its whole sellers for Onc0-Tice BCG business.  This is the same approach that MERCK USA is selling Onco-Tice BCG through its whole sellers for MERCK vaccine products.   Merck Canada has been able to meet the demand of its BCG from its whole sellers.  Also hospitals also directly order BCG from Merck Canada.  Sometimes Merck Canada gets urgency request for Onco-Tice BCG from hospital and they are also able to meet this kind of demand.   So, from their point of view, they are not seeing BCG shortage of Onco-BCG.

So, it baffles me that some patients are told to be treated with different BCG when in fact Onco-BCG seems to be  available.
