I had a scope near the end of November and all was clear but my urologist said he wanted a second opinion as being diagnosed in February 2012 I have had two reoccurrences. Just finished second set in October of BCG’s which I tolerated well.
Went to see another Urologist in London who also is a surgeon and does oncology.
This doctor explained to me that he will do the scope in February and if he finds anything he will resection the bladder to see if any cells are there.
He feels BCG’s are not very effective in non-invasive aggressive b/c. First round 60% and second round 40%. He told me that I had Ta non-Invasive which I knew was superficial but the Ta I believe is the stage?
In summary he said he would not look at removing my bladder as to soon and being major surgery and I did not need two urologists’. My husband felt he was very knowledgeable and had confidence in him. I did as we’ll but feel a little lost without the treatments as he see’s no reason to do the maintenance. Was relieved as thought for sure I was being referred for a cystectomy. Want to thank you Zina for our chat and all the info. I guess not needed right now and thinking positive it won’t come to that.

That’s good news. I also think that it would be quite premature for bladder removal.
