Does someone know what tests are available to monitor bladder cancer and or its potential metastasis? I have heard of urine cytology and bladder cancer markers in the urine. Are there appropriate blood tests too? How frequently will OHIP (provincial gov insurance) pay for them? I have muscle invasive stage 2 cancer which has been removed, but I don’t want a cystectomy or chemo/radiation, so it is likely to metastisize. I am following alternative treatments on my own, and I would like to know what tests could best indicate if there is metastasis, what tests can measure cancer levels in the body best, etc. I don’t want a CT scan, so I am looking for blood tests or urine tests.
    Thanks
