Recently at this past Mother’s Day family dinner my four boys did a lot of reminiscing about their younger days, remembering how I took them to their extra curricular activities (yes, I drove a mom minivan and probably drove enough kms to circumnavigate the globe several times), and all the trips to the grocery store for massive amounts of food. ( A shopping trip back then involved a tab of $400-500 every three weeks and two very full cart loads of groceries. The buying, loading, unloading and putting away was nearly a full day event. My hubby and I often joked that the grocery bill was the second mortgage payment.)

They actually thanked me (all four of them) for all the meals I had provided and the all hours taxi service plus all the other usual and not so usual requests I had fulfilled over the years. I nearly fell over hearing this but that was the best Mother’s Day gift I’ve ever received. It is nice to be appreciated.

I know that this is a bit belated but I hope that all other moms on this site had good Mother’s Days as well. ((((HUGS))))
