    In a world full of unknown and fear, wouldn’t it be a boost to know that the stimulation of the immunion system of bladder cancer patients who have and are undergoing BCG treatments could help defend us from Covid-19. There are of course no medical studies or opinions to support this. But, who knows? We must not have any false sense of security. Keep up your guard and practice all Covid precautions.

    Take care, Stay safe, God Bless all my fellow BCGers.

    Hi Jack,

    I have been following this story. Apparently a single vial of BCG used in bladder treatments could vaccinate 300 to 500 front line health care workers. With Canada already facing a BCG shortage of up to 25% for 2020 an effort to vaccinate large numbers of people with BCG would stain the supply chain further. Uncertain times.

    Hi Peter

    There is a shortage of BCG in North America because we have only 1 supplier Merck, that is approved by Health Canada. There are many strains of BCG throughout the world so we will as you say wait and see.

    Hi ;

    Thanks- I just read about the BCG being used for Covid and wanted to ask and here you’ve got this posting up!

    I just hope there’s enough BCG to go around for all people who need it for their cancer healing and if they use it for the Covid-19 to help.

    Wishing you all the best;

    Tana

    Thanks Joe;

    I clicked on and read more about using BCG for Covid 19.

    I know we already had a shortage as I had to wait awhile before I got scheduled for my first set. It feels comforting to get something to help heal so I’m all in for the BCG and hope there’s enough for all!

    WhatsApp messages claiming the BCG vaccine prevents coronavirus infection are inaccurate.

    The Bacille Calmette-Guérin jab has been given to children around the world to fight off tuberculosis, and was widespread in secondary schools in the UK until 2005.

    Gerry, with all my respect, ” BCG vaccine prevents coronavirus infection are inaccurate” is not correct.

    There are three clinical trials in Australia, Netherlands, USA each involving 4,000 high risk health workers to test if BCG vaccine will prevent those health workers from COVID-19.

    Hi Peter,

    I know you are an avid bicycle rider, but see this story of a girl India carrying a sick dad over 1200 KM on a bicycle.  I bet you can’t beat that.:)

    Hi All:

    I’m wondering if those of us that have had BCG treatments retain the immune benefits that would help prevent or fight off COVID 19?  Any thoughts?

    Hi Marysue;

    It’s definitely a nice thought if it were an absolute certainty the BCG would protect us from Covid but because we don’t know for sure then  we certainly can’t guarantee ourselves that it does. I’m taking all precautions. I’m going by the fact that having cancer ( my opinion ) is a lowered immunity which my naturopath in October /20 confirmed that my immunity is low ( though been going through an added stress events of my sister suddenly passing and doing a messy estate situation and dealing with lawyers) and I feel that stress lowers immunity which didn’t help my health staying vibrant! ( my opinion) and she’s concerned for me to build it up stronger and this was after two 6 week initial sets and then a three week of BCG installations. So…. am keeping doing all I can to build health and stay safe. No risk taking for me at this time. Hope everyone is safe and well as can be during these trying times.

    Cheers- Tana
