Saw my urologist today for my 4 week follow- up for the removal of the tumor in my bladder (my 6th in 71/2 years) and even though it was malignant I’m back to low grade…last one a year ago was high grade…Will be having a cystoscopy in December as a precaution as usual…

Sorry I haven’t been around much this year but it has not been a good one…Went to bed last March and couldn’t get any breath…after many blood work-ups, x-rays, pulmonary tests, my doctor sent me back to see my cardiologist (I have a pacemaker) and he figures my breathing problems were caused by an irregular heartbeat…after taking heart pills for over a month or more he ordered an electro cardio version procedure (shock treatment) to get my heart back beating regularily…What a relief to finally sleep in my bed instead of sleeping upright in my easy chair ! Seems it worked OK !

I stalled having my bladder operation because of this and that is why it was great to hear that everything is clear for now…except for some congestion and a bad cough.

Ahh the Golden years…(Only thing golden is my urine…LOL !)

    Hello “Beans”

Love your sense of humor. I now have a whole new perspective on the Golden Years that I am fast approaching.

As far as this year not being a good one, I would argue the point. You are still here and that is a huge thing. Add to this that the BC is back to low grade and that is a super huge thing. Then add that your breathing problems have settled down and you are now sitting on top of the world!

Every day is precious and worth being around for.

In case anyone has to make a comment about winter coming and how depressing that is here are some good points to think about: no bugs; no mosquitoes; no yard work; no gardening; when it gets cold you can put on more clothes vs in the summer when it gets too hot you can’t necessarily remove all your clothes and run around naked; days are way too short but we get to enjoy the awesome sunrises at a human time instead of 4 in the morning; get to see the sun sparkling off of new snow (this blew away some immigrants that came from “never winter” countries and this made me appreciate winter more); winter is an awesome excuse to stay indoors and cuddle up in front of the fireplace; and even a better excuse to fly south.

Don’t get me wrong as I absolutely love summer and spend so much time outside that my hair bleaches so blonde that you can’t tell I have gray hair.

    Let’s hear it for life!!

    Take care

    Hi Beans,

Glad to hear your heart is back to its normal beat and especially the great news about the “low” grade. No one likes to hear the word cancer tumor but if it’s low NMIBC than you have much to be thank full for. I’m broaching the golden years too and for sure the limbs aren’t what they use to be. Every day is a new day and a venture at that. I take it all in stride knowing full well others have it worst. I found out I had BC over 3 yrs ago and have been cancer free for over 2 yrs now…on 6 month follow-up with my URO out of PRHC.

Stay positive, stay strong and keep that great sense of humor rolling on…:)

    God Bless.

    Rick

Hi Beans. Beans? I love beans actually. so I must love you. Well, maybe not. VCool name actually. Your last name is Campbell right? Well beans and BC sort of go together. Well, maybe not. Anyway I’m glad you are feeling better. The golden years? Seriously? there is not gold, well I don;t have any gold anyway. Sometimes my urine is just a boring yellow. Well my best to you, keep us informed as to your uring color, your heart of gold and everything else.

    Hello Kiowa

Boring yellow? Take that any day over “surprise red”. Thus, I believe you are wrong: yellow urine is not boring but a blessing.

Bet you never thought of it that way!

    Take care

Well Cheryl, I did experience the surprise sunset red once. You’re right. I will stay with boring yellow.
