1. Go to your Walk page. If you have not yet set one up, do it now.
2. Put together a personal letter requesting a donation on that page.
3. Send it to everyone in your e-mail contact list. If you have not put your edited list into your page, do that now too.
4. Post the link to your personal site on Facebook.
5. Get ready to be surprised. People will respond on line and you will be raising more money than you thought possible because people care.We all hate asking others for money for ourselves. But this is not asking for money for you, this is simply you asking for money for bladder cancer patients. Most of what is donated actually goes to the awareness and support of patients with a good bit going towards research as well. A very modest amount goes to administration so rest assured the directors at BCC are faithful stewards of these donations.
Nineteen days till the walk! Let’s blow the doors off our goal.

Can I have a proxy? You know, someone to run for me since I can’t make it for the run? I could set up the page and follow all of Greg’s impossible to understand instructions (expect a phone call dude, my friend). I need someone to impersonate me. Well not literally, but to run for me. You know, a run for Ki proxy. Then I can maybe get more donations.

September 9, 2014 at 12:38 am #18078Rick BParticipantOk Ki here’s the deal…you find a tread mill, either one you already have or a near by fitness centre, and be there on Sept 20th…walk kicks off at 10:45 am
Toronto Time…that’s like 8:45am Texas right?.You take your iphone, or whatever you have to logon to BCC Website at start time, and give us a live account of your walk from Texas for BCC…walk 5 klms (a little over 3 miles) and I will sponsor your $5 per klm = $25.00.
How many others out there will join me (maybe Jack or Eddie can do a general broadcast) in doing that for Ki and for BCC…Ki…go UTube…Twitter…as the only Texan Walking for BCC…
I pledge…You Walk…

September 9, 2014 at 1:35 am #18079KIOWAParticipantThanks, rick. That’s very generous and a good deal. I think I could make it a tenth of a mile. I was hoping to get someone in the hinterlands of Canada to do it and I would do the paying. I guess I could load myself up with more Morphine but then i might be doing a crawl. Now that i think about all this it doesn’t make any sense, rather, I don’t make any sense. Could I have my dogs do it? Well, let me think on this. I think maybe I’ll …..never mind. That’s a ridiculous idea too. I think Greg and I are genetically related. or maybe and hopefully just generically related. Maybe I should sponsor someone. I think that’s what I sorta meant anyway. So is there any one I can sponsor who won;t run 500 miles?

Seems not, don’t you think. I wish him Well and while I can’t sub for him this year…well, there is always next year.
Ok last attempt, is there anyone who will walk for Ki…I have made my pledge ($25) to kick start…let’s see what the strong BCC can do for you Ki…
