    Hi Everyone,

I am sorry to be posting the first bad news on our new beautiful site. Kudos to all who worked on it.

Unfortunately, Mike and I were told last Friday that his cancer has returned and that we are in an incurable situation. Needless to say, we are devastated, shocked, sad, mad and just generally freaked out.

We met with the Radiation Oncologist yesterday morning and he explained that Mike has a tumour that is eroding his pelvic bone, another tumour in a lymph node and something in his belly. Their main concern is the tumour in the bone which is exactly what has been causing him the excruciating pain. Turns out it is not neuropathic pain…it’s CANCER and at the exact location that he has been pointing to for months.

Mike will begin radiation treatments next Tuesday, April 2 in Ottawa. He will receive 10 treatments – one each day for 10 days during the week with weekends off.

I just needed to vent and hopefully get some more words of wisdom from all of you.

    Thanks for listening.

    Monique

    Monique:
I tried to reply before but there was a problem, no doubt with what I did. So I’ll try again.

I am deeply saddened by your report about Mike’s recurrence from the doctor. Now you’ve got some very challenging days ahead. I will be praying for you both and sharing your story with a group I meet with for prayer each Wednesday. Tonight you will be prayed for. God is able. He often does not heal. But He can and will provide strength, peace, comfort and in His sovereignty can heal as well. This is not a religious site so I will not go on, but please be encouraged even in the midst of bad news. If you need to chat at some point, feel free to call as in the past.

    Hi Monique

I am so sorry that Mike’s cancer has returned. The radiation should get the pain reduced in the pelvic area. You both will be in my prayers.
    Hugs, Jack

    Dear Monique
I wish with all my heart I had magic words to ease your sadness. I can only offer to listen to you and pray for you and Mike, as others have already said. I hope the radiation eases some of his pelvic pain.

Thanks for all the hugs everyone. Mike has asked me to tell you that he will be fighting this tooth and nail and with every available method – traditional or otherwise.

Please keep the hugs coming….it really helps.

    Love y’all. 🙂

    Monique and Mike
