Just got back from my cysto check. They found another tumour and removed it then and there. It is the 4th tumour in 10 months. To make it now 7 in 3 years. I have yet to get beyond the cysto every 3 months. I am getting more stressed every time the cysto day draws near. Is there some hope in the future.

Sorry you are having so many recurrences. Have you had any treatments during the 3 years since diagnosis? Had I had 2 recurrences during 1st 2 years after initial diagnosis in 2005, was given BCG treatments and have been cancer free since 2007.
All the best,

Yes there is alwasys HOPE. Sometimes its seems its all we have. This can be a challenging journey with many twists and turns. This is a crappy situation, but try to celebrate after each cysto because you are still alive to endure it. For me, it was all the uncertainty that caused the most stress, and all the 《■>◇°●○~[★ I put in my own head. You are strong, and we are here to help. Jack is a great resource. His knowledge of this cancer is amazing.May 2, 2015 at 12:41 am #18902Jack MoonKeymasterHi Gord
My 1st 2 attempts with BCG did not stop the recurrences. After my 3rd Turbt I at 1 instillation of MMC and then a further 6 weekly treatments of BCG at my request I might add. My Uro was was not too positive about another attempt at the BCG treatments. But 8 years later I am still cancer free. So is there hope, there sure is. There are also many alternatives to BCG such as 6 weekly treatments of mitomycin C, or 8 monthly treatments of Valstar. Also Interferon can be added to BCG which has proven to be successful in many situations. I recommend you question your Uro about the different options available.
All the best,

I am so very sorry that there are so many reoccurrences and such invasive and tortuous procedures that you all have to endure, for that my heart goes out to each one of you. I don’t know that I could maintain the strength and courage that you have.I admire each and every person on this forum for there perserverence, I wish nothing but the best for you all.
I wish I could give y’all a big hugMay 2, 2015 at 3:34 pm #18911marysueParticipantAll our journeys are different and have their unique challenges. Some of us will find one path easier than another. From what I’ve read over the past few years it seems that we arrive at the solutions that work best for us be it an RC or a BCG journey. That’s the blessing of this site. We can support and cheer each other on, and of course give out virtual (((((((HHHHUUUUUGGGSSSS))))).

do you have high grade tumors or low grade that keep recurring. Has the grade changed during these 3 years? Wish you the best of luck.May 16, 2015 at 1:22 am #18975SueGParticipantThanks for the hug Rhonda and here’s one back {hug} Please don’t feel bad about anything you post – it all helps, you and everyone here.
marysue is right, each is unique and I consider the varied experiences to be a full picture we can draw from on our own journey with BC.
Sorry to hear of so many recurrences Gord. Wish you (and everyone) the best!
