    Hi Everyone:

February is a short month so I decided to post this a bit early. March will be upon us soon and for those down east, I’m sure they are hoping for the “march” of storms to come to an end. (Sorry about the attempt at a pun). So, who is up for stuff? This will be my month – annual cysto March 12th. I feel well so I am not anticipating any issues. I pray that everyone else will have good news. Best wishes going forward this month.

My wish for March is “all clears” for those having procedures. Nothing for me but you are all in my thoughts.

Radiation therapy March 2 – 6, double dose over short period of time to try to really shrink a rather aggressive and painful tumour. Not quite the type of sunburn I was hoping for – and certainly not in that area of my anatomy! I will NOT post photos!

Scheduled to start radiation treatments for the first time on Mar. 9. I will be having chemo concurrently.
That’s if they decide not to remove my bladder. Seeing my regular medical oncologist on Mar. 4 and a surgeon on the 5th.
That actually only gives me 4 days to make a decision.
Things have been moving very quickly. I need to take a breath.

    Cheers

    Moe

Caring thoughts out to those having procedures this month. Especially to Greg and Moe. Good luck to both of you, and hoping for the very best of outcomes for each of you.

Thanks Susan. I may ask them to delay the beginning of the radiation treatments to give me a little more time to make a decision. I guess it will depend on what the surgeon has to say on Wednesday. I am seeing my medical oncologist on Thursday. She has been taking care of me for 4 years and I trust her. I hope she has an opinion. I really don’t think I am ready yet for the surgery.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice about driving myself to treatments.
I am starting radiation treatments on Monday the 9th, every weekday for 6 weeks and I will be having chemotherapy every Tuesday after the radiation. I have had chemo before but this will be a much lower dose and only 1 drug as opposed to 2 last time. I know that everyone doesn’t have the same side effects or reactions to treatments. I would really like to take myself to these appointments and I am only 10 minutes from the hospital. It’s a pretty big undertaking for someone to get me there everyday for 6 weeks. Anyone have any opinions on this.

    Thanks to all
    Moe

I drove myself to all my chemo and radiation appointments. No problems. I am 25 minutes from the hospital.
