    Hi Everyone:

I’m posting a little early as I expect to be very busy in the next couple of weeks helping an elderly friend of mine.

July launches us fully into summer and is one of the biggest months for taking holidays.  It is often a month for visiting friends, family and just taking some hard earned time to relax and get away from it all.  When a person is diagnosed with bladder cancer it is often difficult to get away from it all.  No matter where you go or where you are, bladder cancer is there – you are either dealing with it directly in terms of surgeries, treatments or tests or could be on a hiatus state of just check ups only. You could be adjusting to life post radical cystectomy or recovering from drug treatments like chemo or BCG.

No matter where you are in the bladder cancer journey, we need to find ways to make the best of what we have. Since I’m on a limited budget,  I use summer to lose myself in good books, enjoy my garden and appreciate the small things like watching the grey and black squirrels duke it out for turf and food from bird feeders.  Connecting back to nature even in the smallest way helps alleviate the stresses of dealing with disease.

Take care of yourself and your loved ones.  Enjoy the sun, the rain and try to count your blessings even when the situation is tough.  Best wishes as always for all those dealing with stuff this month.  ((((HUGS))))

    Thanks for posting Marysue!
I am hosting my last Support Group via the Hybrid (in-person & Zoom) on Thursday June 27th, before we take a break in July and August, and resume in September.
We have a NWOC nurse (Roxie) joining us to help answer questions for any/all patients who have issues with their external bag, including all accessories that help attach the bag. As you recall, she is very knowledgeable, and helpful in making suggestions on how to live with ones external bag comfortably.

Here is the Zoom link for anyone interested in joining.
BCC Volunteers is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
