    Hi Everyone:

January is starting to wind down and with it, I hope we get a break from the winter whollop that many areas of the country experienced after a record breaking warm December.  A neighbour of mine still had spinach growing in his garden on New Year’s Eve!  Hopefully Groundhog Day will forecast an early spring.

February is the turning point of winter when we sense the worst may be behind us.  Many like myself who garden start dreaming of the new season to come.  For those who are in active treatment for bladder cancer let us hope and pray that with the turn of the new month it is a turn for something better for you all.  Positive thoughts and prayers coming your way.  ((((HUGS))))

Thanks for this upbeat message. I am sending positive thoughts your way as well. I pray your next checkup will be boring and uneventful!

    My best,

Finally, after my first incident of gross hematuria in late December23, I am scheduled for 2 pelvic ultrasounds tomorrow with a cystoscopy early next week. After the hematuria incident my excellent family doctor suggested an ultrasound which noted a minimum of 3 suspicious polypoid lesions in my bladder. Waiting so long was difficult but now hoping to get some answers with treatment, as needed.

    Hi CurtisGord:

I suggest asking your uro about the reason for the different imaging.  A lot of uros use both but for different purposes.  Ultrasound can show up tumours.  That was how my original tumours were discovered.  Good Luck.  ((((HUGS))))

Thanks! Not sure why ultrasound rather than CT, but will ask. Been impossible to get a doc appointment. Heading into surgery #2 without ever speaking to a doc! So strange. First appt will be two weeks after 2nd. turbt.

I had my cystoscopy yesterday and it went fine.  I feel great this morning. No blood in urine or burning at all. For all the people out there nervous about their cysto my experience was ok. It was not at all as bad as I was expecting. Urologist did not do a biopsy but confirmed I will need a TURBT procedure to remove tumours which will then go to pathology. 4-6 week wait for TURBT…
