ParticipantHi Everyone:
I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by. This is the last calendar post for 2017. I’m posting this a little early as the last half of November is extremely busy for me and I didn’t want to forget.
Many of us have had long journeys this year and in years past. December is often a month to take time to look back and reflect. For those of us that are past the treatment stage, let us take a moment to be grateful for our survival and think of what words of wisdom we can pass on. For those still dealing with “stuff” our positive thoughts and prayers, good wishes are with you. Let us hope that 2017 ends on a good note in that we hear of lots of good results and all clears. ParticipantMy RC and Neo were a year ago September. Since last December, I’ve been doing the Tecentriq Phase 3 clinical trial. One more treatment in early December and I’m done. I just got the results of my 4th CT scan since the surgery. All good! Also in early December, I’ll see cytology results during the last follow up with the surgical oncologist.
There were times when all this began that this seemed decades away. Getting more and more accustomed to life with Neo, especially since Neo continues to improve. Taking a great trip to celebrate the end of this leg of the BC journey because I choose to believe the cytology results will be good. (Knock on wood-my only superstition.)
I hope everyone has a good holiday season and I send my warmest support to any and all who are dealing with their BC journey. Also to the caregivers.Sue

ParticipantBack from my latest Cysto and all clear so do it all again in 6 months, disappointed that I didn’t get to ask all the questions I needed to but will ask and keep asking when I can. Very pleased non the less and well done to all.
Love and best wishes to all and Happy Christmas.

ParticipantGreat news Paul!
Yes, it is hard to get all the questions in at a cysto exam. The docs are really on the fly trying to get all the exams done.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well. You have an extra good reason to celebrate. I’m thinking that the BCG is finally taking hold. Yahoo! (((((HUGS)))))

ParticipantI had my first TURB done today at a local city hospital. It was a day surgery. Below show how the day proceeded.
7:15 AM registered at Admission
7:30 AM checked in day surgery preop
7:45 AM told me go pee & gargle with like mouthwash for
8:00 AM put me on IV, and Vital machine
8:30 AM went to pee
9:10 AM taken to op waiting room. Anestesiologist came & decided on spiral than general because i was wheezing. Bit worried as I had never done it before.
My urologist came. I asked him if he washes my ladder with chemo. He said used to awhile ago, but it did not work well now he does not.
9:30 AM in Op room 5. I started feel my butts warming when the doctor put something in the back. The doc said “good its working”. Then the whole body below my waist started feel numb.
9:40 AM my urologist started working on me down below. A few times, my legs moved twitched. But it went away. After a few minutes, I felt some sensation, little pain inside of my abdomen. I figured out it was my bladder.
10:00 AM or earlier, he finished. He said it was big, but he got it all out. I did not ask how many. I will see him early January for pathology result and future treatment. He said I go home with a catheter because of lots of blood.
10:30~11:30 post op room. a nurse was assigned dedicated on me. The nurse was checkIng my vital & urine.
11:30 ~ 3:00PM post surgery room. Took long time till I could walk, but my butts were still totally numb. a discharge nurse explained how to use the catheter. my wife and my daughter picked me up & came home. I need to drink 2 glasses of liquid every hour. I can take out the catheter at 8 am, Saturday. I hope my surgey experience is useful info for someoe new.December 27, 2017 at 4:15 am #22061Farm-Boy
ParticipantWas back in Canada for a very quick cyctoscopy late 2017. All good again, and fortunately every time since the fall of 2013 after my surgery.
One more 6 month and then moving to annual check-ups. Seemed a long jurney at the start, but thanks in part to all of your encouragement I am nearly here.
Best wishes to everyone for the New Year and for those of you new to the journey, stay in touch with others who follow this site and respond often. They are a great support.
I live and work in Haiti now on another one year contract but will try and check in a little more often on the site to see what’s happening !!
