ParticipantHi again everyone! This is the end of 2015! Where did the year go? November looks like it is/was a very busy month for a lot of people. We hope and pray that good news flows into December and we get a good start on 2016. Best wishes, thoughts and prayers to all who have stuff in December. Nothing for me. (((((HUGS)))))

ParticipantHello
Cystoscopy Dec 16. Would be the best Christmas present to myself if I get my second all clear. Realistically, I am prepared to not get an all clear since recurrence rates are so high.
Then it will be full speed ahead for the Christmas company. First ones arrive that weekend (20th). Last one will leave….???? Anyway, if nothing else I can tell the company they have to go because we are heading south! Come to think of it, it might or might not work.
Take care

ParticipantCheryl, BlueBill, Claude … Thoughts and prayers for continuing good news.
I have my first follow-up Cysto next Wednesday, 18 November.
As far as December is concerned: I have 3 BCG treatments scheduled on 1, 8 and 15 December (I guess this depends on next Wednesday’s results, however – Prayers and fingers crossed).

ParticipantWell …
First off: Marie, Jack and Claude … Thank-you for your well wishes.
Unfortunately, during today’s Cystoscopy the tumor resection site was found to be raised and pink in colour.
My Urologist said that it could be a number of things …Healing tissue, Reaction to the BCG, or a recurrence. Only a Pathology report can tell for sure.
So, TURBT for me in December.

ParticipantDDep, sorry to hear your news. I was so hoping when looking at the forum I would see a positive message from you.
We all know how you feel as we have all been there.
I guess how we have to look at this is thank God cystoscopies are done every three months so if there is a recurrence it can be caught early on and dealt with.
Please keep us posted and take a deep breath.
God bless

KeymasterHi DDEP
Sorry about not getting a complete all clear. But try to stay positive. I had a similar cysto in 2008 during BCG treatments, Uro was not sure if it was a recurrence or inflammation caused by the treatments. He took a biopsy during the cysto (ouch) and the lab results were negative. At the next cysto the area was clear as the rest of the bladder wall. So do not give up hope.
All the best,
JackNovember 19, 2015 at 3:32 am #19972DDep
ParticipantThank-you Marie and Jack. Your words of have been very heart warming and encouraging. I was genuinely moved.
Yes I am saddened and disappointed but, I am still hopeful.
During my second TURBT the Uro resected the tumor base because he thought he had seen what appeared to be some small Papillary tumors. They turned out to be my bladder healing. This afternoon I received a call from the Uro’s office setting my third TURBT as Monday 30 November.
OOOPs !! Sorry for misposting on the December thread …. I got moved to November !!
God Bless

ParticipantHello DDep
Awesome that your urologist is staying on top of things so well. Also awesome that your TURBT could be scheduled in so quickly.
Per usual, you will beat yourself up imagining the worst until you get the results. We have all been there and done that. Focus on the questionable activity in your bladder being gone. In other words, if it is cancer, those little buggers can no longer have their free reigning party in your bladder.
Check with your uro to see if you can get the results before Christmas. Assuming Christmas is of significance to you. If it is good news, you can have an awesome Christmas without worry. If the news isn’t good, you can still have a good Christmas knowing that action has taken place quickly and the cancer is no longer residing in your bladder. Still pretty good stuff to celebrate.
Remember to breathe, hug, talk and cry as needed. Then go laugh your head off at something that is absolutely silly and ridiculous.
Take care

ParticipantI got the call yesterday for my Pre-Op for Nov 25/15 and the going in dec 2/15 for a Cysco under anesthetic, I asked what it was for as it is not a TURBT and it is just something this uro does once in a while it is more exploritory than anything else, still have jitters thinking about what could be found but amn posative about it all.

ParticipantHi Darren,
About doing you Cystoscopy under anesthetic, the Doctor might want to do some more checking in addition to the scope.
I have heard of “bimanual examinations” being done. I even asked my Uro whether he would do this during one of my TURBTs.
Example: “A careful bimanual examination, best done with the patient under anesthesia, is invaluable in assessing … . … the bimanual examination allows the examiner to assess the mobility of the bladder; such information cannot be obtained by radiographic techniques such as CT and MRI, which convey static images.” Ref. Urology, Campbell-Walsh 10th edition.
Ask the Doctor whether he has in mind doing a “bimanual examination” of your abdomen?

ParticipantHello Darren
Can fully understand your jitters but, if there is something of concern, don’t you want to know sooner rather than later so action can be taken to get it out of you?
Better sooner than later.
Take care and remember to breathe
