ParticipantHi Everyone:
Well, the vaccine rollout has begun. It does vary from province to province. Here in Alberta we are rolling along. I’ve had one out of two shots. I got the Astra Zeneca one as that was what was available for me. I was knocked flat for a day but figured it was a small price to pay to ensure my safety. As a reminder, if you have any doubts about if getting the vaccine is appropriate for you, contact your health care provider. This is especially important if you are undergoing treatment or recovering from surgery.
When I was in the line up for my shot, I felt a mix of emotions – I was grateful that we have it, thankful for the people who have the brains to develop it and saddened that we have had such a tough time this past year.
This brings me to mention that even though it has been very tough on everyone this past year, it has been tougher still for those still fighting bladder cancer. Some people have had their surgeries and treatments delayed because of the pandemic and that has added a lot of extra stress to an already hard situation. As I always ask, please let’s continue to send positive thoughts and prayers to our brothers and sisters who are battling bladder cancer. Spring is starting to show itself across Canada. I hope with the return of warmer weather we will hear good news on all fronts. Take care all. ((((HUGS))))

ParticipantGot my Covid shot Apr 7th with second dose scheduled for July 17th.
Recent CT scan and blood work showed no signs of cancer.
Scheduled for a cystoscopy in May though, as continuing to having issues with urinating (not related to mucus buildup). This has led to ongoing night time incontinence.

ParticipantBest of luck with recovery Xandra and also to Donald123 for a clear cysto and that the cause for urination issues turns out not to be something serious. (((HUGS)))
