Hi Everyone:
With the COVID 19 crisis uppermost in everyone’s mind we have to remember that bladder cancer will not take a break because another illness has reared its ugly head. Let’s still remember to reach out to our brothers and sisters who are struggling with bladder cancer and may also have to be wary of contracting cronovirus.
If you are doing chemo or some other treatment that compromises the immune system please take extra care during this time. For the rest of us, let’s do our part in helping prevent the spread of COVID 19 not only in solidarity of our fellow BC patients and survivors but for the good of people everywhere.
So far in Calgary most tests and procedures are still going ahead but some urologists are not seeing patients in their offices at this time. Please check with your doctor about what protocols they are following and what to do should you have an urgent need.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers to all during this difficult time. (((((HUGS)))))

New Staging Turbt date April 8. Hoping the hospital is still doing operations then. Now at 12 weeks to get staging turbt. Edwin.

The surgeon has already told him that it’s muscle invasive and high grade. We will find out if the cancer has spread and what the treatment plan is. But, thanks to COVID -19, he will get this news by himself. I cannot attend his appointment. Very worried.

Just wanted to let people know that in Calgary it appears that the majority of cystos are being postponed unless it is a post surgery check or you are in active treatment. Since I’m doing fine I have postponed mine until September 2020. I chose to do this because even though they have reduced the number of appointments to avoid overcrowding in the cysto waiting room I still don’t feel safe going into the department. It is small and very crowded and not to mention that we women have to change and the change room is small and cramped and not too clean. There is also only one washroom for patients and it is not that clean at the best of times. I have complained a few times about the state of the washroom and change room so I hope this COVID situation finally improves things.
