    Hi Everyone:

Happy St. Paddy’s Day! We’re getting past the half way point of March so I’m posting for April. Already! Is it me or is time going faster? Anyhoo… onwards…Best wishes for those that have “stuff” in April. May we hear a lot of cheers and all clears!

Malcolm has his 4 year post RC and chemo, ultrasound, appointment with his urologist.
He fell and broke is right ankle a week ago. In a cast and non-weightbearing for 6 weeks. Sees the orthopod again next week (March 27).
Will be asking if it is considered a fragility fracture and if a Bone Mineral Density test should be done.
We rented a chair lift for 2 months. Our condo is split level – bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper level, living area and kitchen on the lower level. We rented a wheelchair and purchased a walker.

I will be starting my first treatment of BCG on April 22. I don’t know what to expect, and I am quite scared.

Before that, I’m going through some fertility treatment to have my eggs harvested so I can get pregnant when all of this is done. Rather be safe then sorry, my fertility is fragile to begin with, I’ve been trying to get pregnant for a decade. I am now 40. I don’t have any scheduled visit yet for the fertility clinic, because all of that will depend on my body and my cycle. I know that there will be lots of visits to come before the actual egg retrieval procedure. I will also be getting all of these hormonal injections. Of course, I am an emotional person to begin with, and have been extra emotional through all of this, I don’t think this is going to be a very pretty picture… I may be quite a basket case through this process.

Here’s to hoping that they can harvest many eggs and fertilize them all.

    Hi Az:

Best of luck with the fertility stuff and BCG. Yes, it will be a bit complicated to be sure but ask lots of questions of your docs and then you can make the best decision going forward. Keep us posted.

Greetings from Kitchener, ON. I am fairly new to this forum, and have only posted twice, I think. I am scheduled for a cystectomy tomorrow, March 31st. Currently doing the pre-op cleanse, (yipee!), in preparation for the surgery.
I have to say as the day progresses, I am getting more nervous. I’ve been trying to keep myself busy doing little tasks around the house.
I received a very nice surprise in the mail today! It was a mystery package from Calgary. I don’t know anyone from Calgary. Excited and curious, I opened the package to find a beautiful quilt, and a small envelope with a pretty hand made card. On the outside of the card was a simple “Hello”, on the inside was a hand written note that said, “Thinking of you as you make your journey… Hugs & Best Wishes from Bladder Cancer Canada”
Wow, I do not even know who to thank, this is the sweetest gift I’ve ever received.
To, Bladder Cancer Canada, a heartfelt THANK YOU!

All the best tomorrow Ronda-Lee. We have a few Angels at Bladder Cancer Canada, not sure who they are, but they are very kind to have sent you a beautiful quilt and a card.
You will be in my thoughts in prayers,
    Jack
