    Hello,
    My husband Bernie has recently been diagnosed with bladder cancer. With a number of appointments, discussions etc, our doctors/team have decided that Bernie is a good candidate for bladder preservation. We go to a chemo teaching session on Feb 16 and chemo and radiation start on Feb 22.

    We have chatted and messaged with a few people that have neo bladders and have very much appreciated that info! Also, we appreciate the supportive community here!

    Is there anyone who has taken the bladder preservation route that has tips, would be able to chat or email with info?

    Hi Bonnie:

    Welcome to Bladder Cancer Canada but sorry that you and your hubby have need of us. I personally have not had to consider this option and don’t know of anyone that has done it. However, if you have not already done so, I suggest that you call BCC on the toll free number and ask if they can help find you a connection with another patient that has done so. I’m under the impression that this is a fairly new option and only available in limited places so I’m not sure if we’ve had any contributors on the site. Best wishes going forward for your hubby’s treatments. Let us know how it goes. (((((HUGS))))

    Like Marysue, I’ve not heard about the bladder preservation you speak of. I wish Bernie the very best…please keep us in the loop.

    Thank you! We have had a message from Derek who is a few months ahead of us on this road. We had a chemo teaching session today and Bernie had a pick line put in for treatment to start next Wednesday, Feb 22. Today was a good day! Everyone was very helpful, reassuring and answered our many, many questions. We appreciate this site and the support it offers so very much!
