I was reading the question about continuing BCG treatment after initial 6 wks. I spent 18 mons fighting BC before getting an “All Clear” and was prepared to continue with the maintenance. I had a progressivly more severe reaction to BCG and now the uro has said that we will manage with 3 mons cysto’s. I had highly agressive CIS plus tumors again highly agressive. I think that BCG is a wonderful treatment for BC but for people like me who cannot tolerate BCG further research for treatments that are as effective as BCG is needed. I think we need more research into the most effective maintenance program. The efforts of all the wonderful people to raise money for the BC cause is so needed. Good on you all.

Hey girl, long time no hear. You got that right. Some people can do it and others can’t. Some uros do consider Interferon or Mitomycin C but I don’t know how effective they are in realtion to BCG. In the US they often use Valstar but I don’t know if it is available in Canada. Perhaps our commander in chief (Jack) knows.

Valstar (Valrubicin) is not marketed in Canada. I do not know why Anthra Pharmaceuticals has not applied to Health Canada when it is FDA approved in the USA.
Urocidin is currently in phase 111 trials.
