My dad takes Embrel and as such was not a great candidate for BCG therapy.
he was diagnosed just under 2 years ago and underwent a round of doxorubicin treatments and was clear for about 15 months now he has been diagnosed with high grade CIS.
BCG or bladder removal have been offered.
There don’t seem to be available stats on how these 2 drugs interact.(BCG & Embrel)

I have already spoken to several DR and both drug manufacturers.

His case has been presented to several cancer centers also with no additional info available.

Just wondering if anyone in the group has any info.

    thanks

Welcome to Bladder Cancer Canada, the site that no one wants to belong to. I’m sorry to learn of your Dad’s situation. This is a tough one. I have done BCG treatments but haven’t taken Enbrel. Lots of drugs interact with BCG. Hopefully you will hear from someone soon.

I have to ask – was there any discussion with your Dad’s doctor about another similar drug that could be taken temporarily as a substitute for the short time that he would be undergoing BCG? Hopefully the substitute wouldn’t interact. Failing that, is it safe for your Dad to stop taking Enbrel for a short period of time?

Just trying to think outside the box….Maybe call the Bladder Cancer Canada toll free number and ask if you can connect with Jack Moon and BCC’s Medical Advisory Board. Just maybe they may know of something. (((((HUGS)))))
