    Hi all,

I’ve been a bit quiet these past few months fighting the new fight. My last Cysto was clear, but a new problem came up: metastatic bladder cancer in my left femur, and a few nodules in my lungs.

In November, I had a pin inserted in my leg to stabilize the femur, and started radiation treatments in December…driving 3 hours each Monday and back Fridays since radiation isn’t available here. February saw chemo treatments, locally to avoid the 3 hour drive, and have completed 2 cycles already…3rd one starts next Wednesday.

So far, no major side effects from the chemo, but the radiation may have caused lymphatic damage since I now have a nurse that changes a compression bandage every few days to help induce drainage. Have needed crutches or a walker to get around since November.

All in all, I’m keeping positive, and am lucky to have family help any way they can. Also fortunate to have a great medical team – Family doctor that makes housecalls, Chiro that 1st discovered the swelling and told me to get my butt to the ER still calls me every couple of weeks to check up on me, and the chemo nurses & volunteers that take really good care of me.

    Thanks for listening,

    Claude

Hi Claude keep up the positive vibes you have in abundance and feed off the love of family and friends, fellow members of the BC club amaze me with the strength they have in dealing with the things thrown at them. I met a lady at our local cancer support group who has had her own “major” cancers and she is such a positive person as you are Claude that my own cancer problems are nothing, please keep us up to date with your progress.
    Love & Best Wishes
    Paul D
