I don’t usually get too frustrated but these past few weeks having been totally nuts so please forgive…I need to vent.
It all started a little over three weeks ago, on Sunday morning when we discovered that we had no hot water. The pilot light had gone out. Open flames and me don’t mix too well, so we decided to make do with heating water and called our trusty furnace/hot water tank guy the next morning. We were lucky, he had an opening and came by to check the tank out. He discovered, get this; the pilot light went out because my dryer vent was blocked and a whole slew of dryer fluff had migrated along the back wall around the furnace and under the hot water tank plugging the air vent. It shuts off as a safety feature. I didn’t see said fluff because it was under some boards leaning against the wall. Anyhow, he removed and replaced the dryer vent, cleaned my furnace and vents and of course the hot water tank. It was a big bill but at least everything was clean. I did a long overdue cleaning of the basement as well.
Next in our comedy of errors…I threw my back out and had to endure 3 days of spasms; no idea of how I did it.
Then when my hubby picked me up from a work meeting at the hospital, the car died in the patient loading zone; battery decided to give up the ghost right then and there. That resulted in a tow to the dealer. We decided to also do an oil change since the car was due for that too. We also were told that we had a nail in the front right tire so it was a good thing that we had a tow. We also needed a couple of other repairs. Ca-Ching! again.
Thirdly, a close friend ended up in hospital with out of control diabetes and is still there. My hubby fell twice on the wet grass at the golf course yesterday, spraining his left wrist, and gave himself a sore tail bone and neck in the process. I’m trying to get him to go and get checked out.
Last weekend we had a domestic violence incident at a house two doors down from us. This is nothing new, police are regulars there. I contacted the Community Resource Officer at the suggestion of the cops that responded to the call as we are all fed up with all the troubles at that address. The CRO met with the landlord to warn her of potential consequences and get her act together, who then angrily banged on my front door and picked a fight because she got told off by the officer. We’ve duelled before. She’s a dimwit who doesn’t understand the meaning of “Check your tenants out before you ,let them move in.”
Lastly as posted under “The Blessing of the Ants” we had an ant invasion which led to the discovery of a pipe leak. My clean basement is now torn apart, waiting for the plumber and will need a second cleaning when it is all said and done.
My youngest son very aptly put it, “Mom, these past three weeks have been one h*** of a s***storm!” Can I please have some hugs?

I think you had a pretty good three weeks. You didn’t have to deal with bladder cancer.
Give yourself a few weeks and you will have an awesome story to tell at gettogethers such as anniversaries and weddings. Everyone including you will be laughing about those three weeks.
In the meantime, until you see the humor in it all: take a deep breath or two or three or four….and you know the rest.
You are still on the right side of the turf. Priceless.
Take care

I’m very late with this reply but you are so right….things could always be worse. I just needed to vent my frustration. It was a lot of stupid things happening all at once. (((((HUGS))))))
