Hi Carol. Sorry we had to meet under these circumstances. I know you have had to absorb a lot in a short amount of time, and your head is probably spinning with it all. I was diagnosed when I was 40 and had been perfectly healthy up until then. It was a huge shock to hear my uroncologist tell me I would need to have my bladder removed. I thought nothing in my life would be the same again. Well, 2 years later, I am living life quite nicely without my bladder. I have an Indiana pouch diversion. But the best part is that I am cancer free, so if it cost me an organ, well it was worth it for me. As Monique suggested, please ask as many questions as you need to – of your doctor, and of us here on this site.
