Tarantulas are not the cuddliest of pets in my view but nevertheless a pet is a pet. We have had pet insects over the years as our youngest is a nature buff. We have had walking sticks, praying mantises, various ant colonies, lady bugs, grasshoppers, crickets, house spiders and centipedes but no tarantulas. I put a stop to the centipedes since they bite and were always escaping. At any rate when an animal is part of our lives we do feel the loss when they are gone. My youngest had a passion for hermit crabs for quite a while. We had a teeny tiny one named Cupid that was in the loveliest striped shell. We all felt the loss when he/she passed away. (((HUGS)))
