Hi,
It would seem that infection after RC is fairly common. My husband, Mike, had lower back pain too and a fever and was rushed to hospital where we found out he had a serious kidney infection that had gotten into his blood as well.
My advice to you is to be vigilant and know the signs. Mike got a second kidney infection a few months later but we were able to get to it much quicker because we knew the signs.
