Paul:
You will note from our president Jack Moon’s comment above that your urologist is a top specialist so it appears you are in excellent hands. The common protocol for T2 bladder cancer (muscle invasive) is neo-adjuvant chemo (which is chemo before surgery) and then a cystectomy as the uro has said. I too had T2 bladder cancer and had my radical cystectomy in December 2010. It is a shock to get the news that this is necessary, but I can attest that making it through the challenging recovery to lead a new normal is well worth it! If you feel you’d like to contact me on the phone just private message me and I’ll get in touch. You’re close enough that we could meet for a coffee if you’d like. Others would be prepared to do the same if you prefer. Don’t despair. Life can be fulfilling and rewarding after this journey levels out a bit. But don’t do this alone when it is not necessary. People here really care and have been where you are now.
