Sorry that you have been diagnosed with invasive bladder cancer. I have been fortunate being a non-invasive survivor so I do not have the experience to comment on your situation, although I do speak to many survivors that have had their bladder removed. I do echo Greg’s comments regarding having this surgery performed by a very experienced surgeon who performs this surgery every week and is located at a major cancer center or teaching hospital. Again we at bladder Cancer Canada can assist you with obtaining a 2nd opinion in Hamilton if you so desire. It is not just the skill of the surgeon, but is the team he is surrounded by that are very experienced in dealing with the pre-op and post-op.
