Yes Ieva. Treatment has come a long way even in my four decades with the condition. But it is still a leading cause of blindness, the leading cause of non-traumatic amputation, the leading cause of kidney failure. Four out of five diabetics will die of heart issues. And some people choose to ignore the symptoms. Bad mistake. Sort of like ignoring the symptoms of bladder cancer. Don’t do it. Life is too precious.
