Hello:
As a general rule, a cystoscopy by a urologist might determine next steps. If a tumour exists, removal and testing by a pathologist would reveal if it was bladder cancer. Cancer is not something with which to take a chance. Caught early, bladder cancer often has a good outcome. Caught late, not so much. Unnecessary surgery is to be avoided, but who determines what is unnecessary? Not you, unless you are a urologist. If the urologist who knows your history has taken a look and recommends removal, get it looked after. I’ve had six of them done and many on this site have had multiple resections too — and much more when the cancer progressed to muscle invasive disease. Don’t play doctor. Get it looked after.
All the best. Keep us posted.
