Thanks for the candour, folks. It’s helpful to know the issues and that they are not unique to any one of us. Each diversion seems to have its positives and negatives and everyone who has one of the four – can you name them all or just three of them? – seems quite content for the most part.
One other question? How often do you have:
1. CT scan
2. Chest x-ray – why can’t they do a scan without the x-ray and simply go a bit higher to show the lungs so that radiation is minimized as much as possible?
3. Ultra sound
After my last CT scan, my uro said to wait one year, as frequent CT scans increase the radiation doses. Would not an MRI show the same thing and give less radiation? I’m not so interested in our opinions on this (since ignorance is bliss), but if doctors have suggested one or the other for a reason, perhaps all of us could benefit and have the discussion with our uros.
