ok i’m back now. And while i will never ever get into as much trouble as SOME people around here, i have a good excuse.
Monday night we were walking our hounds Norman and Molly. The Evil Cat (a feral black cat that taunts them daily from his perch on a log across the creek) was just crossing the driveway when we got out Norman tore off after it, dragging me along. My fault, i didn’t stop him immediately and once he got moving i couldn’t stop him. short dogs can get a lot more leverage than tall ones, and they do weigh in at 65 lbs each.
Anyhoo, got to spend a couple hours in Urgent care – most of that time they were cleaning and digging bits of gravel driveway out of my right knee. oh, and xrayed the left ankle – which turns out was sprained. 7 stitches on the knee i can see, and several more inside (it was pretty deep according to the doc). They numbed it before starting but it is really creepy to feel them digging, scrubbing, and tugging. And seeing the bloody rags as they progressed.
Came home with an ‘immobilizer’ on the right leg so i don’t bend it and open it up. and thanks to having a sprain on the other side, needed crutches too.
UGH.
So i mostly work from home so no excuse to miss work but by mid-day had no strength left. Decided against the vicodan after a day cause i like my brains more or less functional.
