Susan, I am sure you will get a plethora of information to help. Here are just a few things that might help.
1. A warm bath following the procedure;
2. Avoid anything with caffeine as it irritates the bladder which is already irritated enough (as you well know);
3. A Tylenol or some other mild pain med;
4. Your uro or his nurse should be able to prescribe something if the pain is too severe. I was told it was available if I needed it. As it turned out, I never needed it but did pop the very odd Tylenol;
5.A heating pad or hot water bottle. Maybe the hot water bottle is a better idea because if you happen not to make it to the bathroom and someone sees you , you can say the water bottle leaked!!!
The blood is not uncommon for a couple of weeks off and on.
